Warming Center Resources

The below resources are intended to guide providers and community stakeholders on locations our vulnerable neighbors can sleep when the temperatures drop in the City of Atlanta. This page will be updated as new information is made available.

Atlanta Mission: My Sister’s House

  • 921 Howell Mill Road
  • 10 beds available for women and children when temperatures are below 35 degrees.
  • Intake begins at 3:30 p.m. Clients will be asked to leave by 9 a.m. pending temperature.
  • Clients will participate in a brief screening and security check upon entry.
  • Some COVID protocols including mandatory masks may be enforced.

Atlanta Mission: Shepherd’s Inn

  • 165 Ivan Allen Boulevard
  • 10 cold weather beds available for male clients when the temperatures are below 35 degrees overnight.
  • Intake begins at 8 p.m.

Atlanta Mission: My Sister’s House

City of Atlanta

  • Open to individuals experiencing homelessness at 40 degrees and lower
  • Old Adamsville Recreation Center at 3404 Delmar Lane in Atlanta, GA 30331
  • Central Park Recreation Center at 400 Merritts Avenue in Atlanta, GA 30308
  • Transportation provided at 8 p.m. from Gateway Center located at 275 Pryor Street in Atlanta, GA 30303

Covenant House Georgia Warming Center

  • 62 beds available at 40 degrees and lower
  • Open 24/7 to singles experiencing homelessness and escaping trafficking ages 18-24
  • Transportation and meals provided

Gateway Center Warming Center

  • 275 Pryor Street SW
  • Open to individuals experiencing homelessness at 40 degrees and lower on weekdays and weekends.
  • 35 single men; 5 single women; 2 families consisting of 3 individuals in each family.
  • Agencies looking for an update on availability can call 404-215-6600.

Salvation Army 

  • 469 Marietta Street
  • Free and open to men, women, and families experiencing homelessness.
  • Temperatures must be predicted to drop below 40 degrees between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m.
  • Sober participants can present for intake at 8:45 p.m.
  • Participants are asked to leave by 5 a.m. and are provided with lunch and list of community resources.
  • 20 men, 8 women and 2 families will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
  • All participants will be provided with a mat and a blanket and required to sleep head to toe.
  • No participant with a history of violence can return, and all participants are searched for weapons and contraband.
  • COVID-19 protocols are strictly enforced (temperature check, face mask, hand sanitation).
  • Participants must provide proof of a “negative” TB and COVID-19 screening within seven days of their initial entry.
  • A referral to the Fulton County TB Clinic and/or Mercy Care will be given upon request.
  • Dates vary depending upon temperatures; between 11/15/2022 and 3/31/2023.

Zaban Paradies Warming Center

  • Temperatures must be predicted to be below 32 degrees.
  • Intake is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and exit is at 9 a.m. the following day.
  • Available for 1 – 2 couples experiencing homelessness. Individuals must be 21 years or older (no sex offenders).
  • Meals, showers, referrals, and resource lists are provided.
  • Two bag limit (no food).
  • Body and personal belonging search for weapons and/or contraband.
  • COVID-19 protocols are strictly enforced (temperature check, face mask, hand sanitization.
  • Participants must provide proof of a “negative” TB screening within seven days of their initial entry. Referral provided (Fulton County Health Department or Mercy Care)
